Through our Daily Spiritual Practice we begin to…
In the opening of the book ‘As a Man Thinketh’ starts with a quote,”Mind is the master power that moulds and makes, and man is mind, and evermore he takes the tool of thought, and, shaping what he wills, brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills: He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: environment is but a looking-glass.”
We used to think that if we just found the right job or the right partner, then our life would all work out. What we didn’t realize was that the limited beliefs in our subconscious mind had predetermined our circumstances over and over again. We now view our beliefs as predetermined prophecy. Unfortunately, most people are unable to see their limited beliefs. It is similar to the strings of puppetry, but behind the curtain of our life, controlling our entire existence. It is like looking at the world through a yellow piece of glass and not being able to realize the world isn’t yellow. Imagine, someone believed they were unworthy of love, no matter how much someone loved them they would find proof that they didn’t. Another example is the belief that in order to get rich, one must work hard, seeing through the lens that would only allow money to be earned by hard work. On the other hand, if someone had a belief that they are lucky, they would always see the coincidence of luck. Beliefs can be both abundant or limiting. As we awaken, we get to keep the ones we want and release the ones that no longer serve us.
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” –Bible Book of Proverbs Chapter 23 verse 7
