Through our Daily Spiritual Practice we awaken to….
When we are living a life that is in alignment with our truth we are in integrity. The word ‘integrity’ stems from the Latin adjective integer which means whole and complete. It is an inner sense of wholeness. It is to be honest and consistent in ones behavior of who they are. One dictionary definition is,”Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honest and truthfulness or accuracy of one’s actions.”
Our culture has turned integrity into a label, a place of judgment, of better than or less than. Integrity is a personal thing. It is a threshold of the ending of the inner battle. It is the transcendence of our inner critic into our best friend. It is the arrival of our acceptance to the present moment. Dass Ram explains integrity in the intro to his book ‘Journey of Awakening’ as simply, “No longer feeling that one part of me is fighting another.” Integrity is an energetic alignment with the universe, with ourselves. It is knowing the truth, that we are whole and complete exactly the way we are, no longer feeling a void. Once we know this, we are able to accept ourselves completely as we are, releasing any resistance. Once there is non-judgment within, there is the possibility of becoming who we want to be. When we are doing what is in our heart, we are in integrity. “The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and bear the light of the day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny, it is the light that guides your way.” – Heraclitus
